Raw Sylke has the Melbourne Music Scene abuzz, with their individual interpretation of popular music. With a repertoir ranging from the 1930's right up to the present day, they take the best songs from each decade and make them new again with their fresh approach. Anmari has a voice that once heard will never be forgotten. She is "pitch perfect" like "raw silk", a talent that very few singers possess. Comparisons to some of the great singers, (including Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Bessie Smith, Eva Cassidy, and even our own Judith Durham), although flattering, are merely attempts to try and categorise her voice. Apart from her amazing interpretations, Anmari has written many of her own songs. Raw Sylke, "The Band", features the skilled guitar work and arrangements of Trevor Quigley and providing stylistic rhythms, is Peter Clack, on drums.
